Responsible Sourcing

At Alfredo Gemyard, we are in love with the charisma of diamonds but will not compromise on our responsibility toward well-being and safety, both of the planet and its citizens. Our commitment to responsible sourcing allows each lab-grown diamond to shine much brighter than normal, reflecting not just radiance but also high ethical standards in all the jewelry we made.

What is Responsible Sourcing?

Lab-grown diamonds have an inherently lower ecological impact than mined diamonds. Independent from this, however, Alfredo Gemyard goes a step further and works with diamond growers who care. We choose to work with growers that are using renewable energy sources and ecologically sensible practices throughout the entire production process. This means that the output will be as beautiful as the whole process—our commitment to the least possible impact on the environment.Equally important is the ethical treatment of people involved in the diamond industry. We source from labs that have strict labor standards, that ensure fair wages, safety at work, and no use of child labor. We believe every diamond should have a tale of its making, transparently giving every detail about where the diamond comes from and its growth process. This very transparency will help you celebrate your purchase with confidence, knowing you have made a responsible choice.

Our Commitment To Responsible Sourcing

At Alfredo Gemyard, we only work with those creators who independently certify cultivated diamonds, such as the International Grown Diamond Association (IGDA) and SCS Global Services, as proof our partners maintain the most humane and environmentally friendly practices. We go beyond the basics to ensure that all of our diamonds are conflict-free and are sourced from facilities with high regard for both sustainability and social responsibility. We owe our customers the ability to decide. That is why each diamond from our collection is sourced, grown, and any treatments clearly detailed. With Alfredo Gemyard, you always know what you're getting, so rock your jewelry with pride and peace of mind.

Labour Ethics

When it comes to lab-grown diamonds, our ethical labor practices are just as important as they are for mined diamonds. Our ethical labor practices for lab-grown diamonds ensure that workers are treated fairly and with respect and that they are not exploited.

This involves providing a safe and healthy work environment, fair wages, and benefits, and protecting workers' rights to form unions and negotiate for better working conditions. In addition, child labor is not used in the production of lab-grown diamonds and we ensure that workers are not subjected to any form of discrimination based on their gender, race, religion, or nationality.

Carbon Neutral Packaging and Deliveries

At Alfredo, we're committed to sustainability. Our packaging is made from responsibly sourced materials and is 100% recyclable. We use recycled plastic polypropylene for our plastic molds and have optimized our packaging sizes and delivery methods to reduce waste. We continually work to find new ways to reduce our carbon footprint, such as implementing energy efficient practices in our facilities and sourcing materials locally.

Conclusion

Our action plan going forward

Going forward, our ultimate goal is to be 100% transparent about the jewellery we make which means that we’ll have to be able to source the provenance of all the materials we use. We want to leave a legacy of pioneering a higher standard for sustainability and ethics in the jewellery industry. If you want to keep up to date with our progress in this pursuit, we’ve created a sustainability report that outlines our goals for the next five years, which you can download below. We believe that love has no limits, and neither should standards in sustainability.
